Populism with Socialist Characteristics

I published this article last year on Poland’s Family 500+ program. What it shows is that the populist right has stolen the thunder of social democrats and introduced one of the most progressive social policies in Europe in many years, drastically cutting child poverty and increasing school enrollment rates. This is the secret to why the right is maintaining its support in Poland. It is making economic policy work for the people and mainstream politicians had better pay attention.
